9 Things You Should Never Travel Without

Newark Airport parking

At our Newark Airport parking company, we know different trips require different travel necessities – a bathing suit for your beach trip, a coat for your ski trip, and a dress or suit for your friend’s wedding. However, there are some things we believe you should pack in your suitcase no matter where you go:

Noise-Cancelling Headphones

Whether they’re wired or wireless, noise-cancelling headphones are a must. They come in handy in many different situations and can be used to drown out crying babies, constant talkers, noisy public transportation, and can even double as earplugs when you want to get some shut-eye in a public setting.

Hand Sanitizer

Germs are everywhere – and when you travel, you touch a variety of surfaces and encounter more people than normal. This multiplies your chances of getting sick, which means you should wash your hands as often as possible. When you can’t find a sink, however, hand sanitizer can get the job done, so keep some on hand.

A Rain Jacket

Unless you’re heading to a desert on your next trip, there’s likely going to be a chance of rain while you’re there and while an umbrella can help, we suggest a rain jacket. Not only is it compact and portable, but it can add a layer of warmth if you need it. And if you do any hiking near a waterfall, a rain jacket is a must.

A Digital Copy of Your IDs

There are few worse feelings than the feeling you get when you lose your driver’s license or passport. Before you leave for your trip, do yourself a favor and scan all forms of your IDs, then email the document to yourself. This will allow you to access them from anywhere if you lose them.

Dry Shampoo

Travel plans can sometimes be unpredictable, and if you don’t have time to shower (or access to one), dry shampoo can come in handy. It can be used by both women and men with longer hair to absorb excess oil an give you fresher locks without the need for water and shampoo.

A Laundry Bag

Think back to the last trip you took: what did you do with your dirty laundry as the days went on? If you didn’t have a laundry bag, you may have kept them in a pile and then put them in a specific part of your suitcase away from your clean clothing. Next time, invest in a laundry bag and you’ll always have somewhere to put them.

Sunglasses

If you’re someone who often wear sunglasses, you likely feel lost without them on a sunny day. The next time you pack, make sure you remember to bring them with you. While you can always buy another pair if you forget them, there’s nothing like having your favorite sunglasses on hand.

Portable Charger

Today, there are dozens of different portable chargers that can be used to charge your phone, tablet, laptop, and more. While more and more places are making outlets readily available, you never know when you’ll find yourself without one and no way to charge your device. Keeping a portable charger with you is always a good idea.

An Open Mind

While an open mind isn’t exactly something you can stuff into your suitcase, our Newark Airport parking company recommends traveling with one at all times. Travel is about new experiences and if you’re stuck in your ways, you may never try something fun and exciting. Keep an open mind and things will go smoothly.
