How to Pass the Time in an Airport

airports

If you’re a frequent flier, you’ve probably experienced a flight delay once or twice. Delayed flights can be as short as half an hour or as long as several hours, and if you and your friends or family members have already read through your magazines or exhausted your smart phones, try passing the time with these activities:

Photo Competition

Set a time limit and go around the airport taking pictures of unsuspecting people. Try capturing someone changing a diaper, someone picking their nose, or someone about to take a huge bite of their sandwich. Meet back up with your friends or family and decide who took the best picture.

Mini Flash Mob

Choose a busy part of the airport and coordinate a mini flash mob with your friends or family. It can be a freeze flash mob, where you all freeze in place for a few minutes, or a singing flash mob, where you all break out into song. Either way, you’re bound to entertain a few travelers.

Product Competition

If you’re in a popular airport with lots of stores, choose the largest one. Then, set a time limit and try to find the most unique product, the funniest product for $5, the most expensive product, etc. Meet back up and decide who wins the competition.

The Helping Game

Spend your time helping others in the airport. Hold a baby for someone who has too many things in their hands, carry someone’s luggage for them, entertain a child, or help a senior citizen walk to their gate. If you want to make it into a game, meet back up with your friends or family members and share your best effort – then decide who wins.

Puzzle Making

Find some paper and pens and have each person create a puzzle. It can be a word search, a crossword, a maze, etc. Then, switch puzzles with someone else and solve it.
