On Booking a Trip…

planning

Want to plan a nice getaway for you and some friends or family, but aren’t sure where to start? Our EWR Airport parking members can help.

Where to Go

Where you want to go on vacation all depends on how much money you want to spend and how long you want to get away for. If you want to go somewhere exotic for a nice long week, all-inclusive cruises are a great “bang for your buck.” You’ll be able to visit several different vacation spots in one trip while not having to worry about food and drink costs.

If you’re concerned about money or if you only have a couple days to travel, however, stay more local. Plan a trip to visit a place you can drive to. Try heading to major city in the next state over and to save even more, stay in a hotel outside on the outskirts of the city.

If you’re not sure, head to a great website called www.tripzard.com. It can help you narrow down a vacation destination by what you want to do, how far you want to travel, what temperatures you want to experience, and more.

When to Book It

Remember that many destinations have peak seasons when most travelers tend to visit. If you’re booking a trip to Hawaii, it’s likely most people will be there during the winter months when it’s cold in other places. If you want to book a trip during peak season, just make sure to do it early – you’ll get the best price and the best selection.

Many travelers book their plane tickets and hotel rooms during their lunch hour at work or over the weekend, so hotels and airlines will increase their prices at these times. To avoid paying more than average, book your trip in the morning and on a weekday.

Ways to Score a Deal

When it comes to hotels, some will have rooms that they want to get rid of, so it never hurts to ask for a discount to try to get a lower rate. When it comes to booking a flight, book one that departs early in the morning or late at night, when many people don’t like traveling. Also try to fly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays for the cheapest prices.
