Love the beach, but not sure where to jet-set to this summer? Why not head south to the state that’s practically surrounded by water and rife with beautiful beaches – Florida. Here, our EWR Airport parking company shares some of our favorite Florida beaches, from laid-back shores to upscale vacation destinations.
When people think of the Florida Keys, many people think of Key West – maybe it’s because it’s the southernmost tip of the U.S., or maybe it’s because it’s one of the most exciting beaches on our list. Not only will you find a lively culture and plenty of nightlife, but the beach boasts white sand and turquoise waters that will make you think you’re in the Caribbean.
If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway, Sanibel Island is the place to go. Just off the west coast of Florida and not far from Fort Myers, the island has a small population of locals and a variety of mom-and-pop shops. The beach boasts calm waters and is known for its abundance of seashells and sand dollars, which can turn a nice walk down the white sand into a fun hunt for natural treasures.
Another upscale Florida beach location on our list, Naples offers travelers gourmet restaurants, boutique shops, world-class golfing, and luxury resorts. The city is often the choice for a romantic getaway because of its glimmering white sand beaches with gentle waters and an overall extravagant feel. And because of its ambiance, you won’t find many children running around.
Head to South Walton along the panhandle’s coast and you’ll find Grayton Beach State Park, a more than 400-acre beach surrounded largely by Western Lake and filled with fine white sand and a variety of wildlife. Put on your snorkeling or scuba gear and head under the water to see the unique Underwater Museum of Art or simply relax lakeside for the afternoon.
Appropriately named, Palm Beach is situated on the easternmost point of Florida and is lined with tall, majestic palm trees that provide just the right amount of shade on a sunny day. Another popular tourist destination, the 16-mile-long and half-mile-wide island is known as one of the more upscale vacation spots in the state and is filled with beachfront resorts, homes, and hotels.
Another exciting beach on our list, South Beach is located in Miami and is visited by millions of people every year. Here, you’ll find beautiful people, flashy sports cars, and a nightlife that never seems to sleep. The beach itself is a 2.2-mile stretch of golden sand lined with upscale hotels on one side, clear blue waters on the other, and visitors sunbathing and playing volleyball in between.
Right outside of Tamp, you’ll find an area of Florida that gives you the best of both worlds – a relaxing beach experience and an urban landscape. You can even enjoy a nice hike, camping, or kayaking along the seven miles of waterfront park. And as one of the sunniest spots in the state, you can almost guarantee you’ll have good weather when you visit St. Petersburg.
Sitting between Roberts Bay and the Coast of Mexico is eight-mile-long barrier island of Siesta Key. The laid-back area features a variety of playgrounds, tennis courts, picnic areas, and opportunities for boating, swimming, and kayaking, which makes it perfect for a family vacation. You’ll also find the quaint Siesta Key Village, which is filled with small shops and cafes.
No matter which Florida beach you choose, remember to skip EWR Airport parking and make your reservation with NALTP instead. We’ll make sure your trip starts off on the right note!
