Catch a Game While You’re Here
If you love sports (like we do at our EWR car parking company), there are several places in Newark to enjoy a hockey game, basketball game, soccer game, and even a football game. Here, we share some of the most popular sports arenas in the area:
Right at the center of Newark’s business district sits the Prudential Center. This multi-purpose arena opened in 2007, making it one of the city’s newest sports arenas. It’s home to the National Hockey League’s New Jersey Devils. It’s also home to the Seton Hall University men’s basketball team known as the Pirates. The Prudential Center can seat between 16,500 and 18,700 individuals. It’s also home to a variety of shows throughout the year. Shows include comedy acts, ice skating events, musical acts, and family shows. Visitors can enjoy a regular seat or upgrade for a more luxurious experience.
Red Bull Arena
Red Bull Arena is a soccer stadium right across the Passaic River. It’s home to the New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer. The stadium can seat up to 25,000 people, making it the third-largest soccer stadium in the U.S. While it was planned in 2004, it didn’t actually open until 2010. Some of its modern features include a partially transparent roof designed for acoustics, two 800-sq. ft. LED video boards, and the MLS’s first permanent sensory room for those with autism. Guests can make their experience even more exciting with options like Player Escorts, Flag Team participation, Field-Level Photos, and more.
Meadowlands Sports Complex
If you want to catch a professional football game, our EWR car parking company suggests heading to Meadowlands Sports Complex. This complex is located about 10 miles outside of Newark and is home to three sports facilities: MetLife Stadium, Meadowlands Racetrack, and the Quest Diagnostics Training Center. MetLife Stadium is home to NFL’s New York Giants and New York Jets. This makes the stadium a great place for some football. If horse racing is in your interest, head to the Meadowlands Racetrack. This famous circuit is home to the annual Hambletonian Stakes.
