Terminal A at the Newark Liberty International Airport handles both domestic and Canadian flights and is considered the centerpiece of a transformational renovation project that has been ongoing for a number of years. The one-million-square-foot terminal is 20% bigger than the old terminal it replaced and was opened to travelers in January 2023. The new airport lounges in EWR Terminal A are just some of the highlights. Terminal A also features restaurants, cafeterias, bars, retail shops, charging stations, ATMs, and much more spread out over its multiple levels. The three main concourses—A1, A2, and A3—are where you will find the majority of the services and amenities along with rest and pet areas.

The airport lounges in EWR Terminal A are an excellent way to spend your time because they provide you shelter from the hustle and bustle of the main traffic areas. The available lounges provide comfortable seating and quiet work areas, but also televisions, newspapers, magazines, drinks, and food. American Airlines Admirals Club — Mezzanine Level, Gate A8
The Admirals Club is one of the newest airport lounges in EWR Terminal A and is accessible through Admirals Club membership or a one-day pass. It has dedicated work areas and a six-seat conference room that can be booked. Complimentary Wi-Fi and food and drinks, including a full-service bar are available. Snacks are available at all hours, and during breakfast, lunch, and dinner times, expanded food and drink menus are available, including made-to-order specialties. Relax in the living room area with its signature fireplace, grab a stool at the bar, or take a seat near the window and enjoy some quiet time.
Centurion Lounge —Departure Level, Gate A4
The Amex Centurion is currently under construction as of this writing and will open to travelers in 2026. Access is provided to Amex cardholders with either a Platinum or Centurion account. Day passes are also available but require the use of an American Express credit card. The design goal with each Centurion Lounge is to reflect the culture of the region, which is why you’ll find a jazz bar and a piano lounge here in addition to local antiques and artifacts on display throughout the space. Once opened, the lounge will have a full-service bar with snacks and a restaurant active during breakfast, lunch, and dinner times.
Delta Sky Club — Mezzanine Level, Gate A8
The Delta Sky Club is one of the oldest airport lounges in EWR Terminal A in a sense. It has been open in Terminal B for many years, and they moved everything over to this new space where they recreated the beloved ambiance of the original while infusing it with new as well. This is a 7,000-square-foot lounge that can accommodate up to 200 guests at a time. It has a premium full-service bar in addition to a self-serve beverage station. A well-stocked buffet is available at all times, and a menu is offered toward the peak times. Access is provided to Delta Sky Club members or via a day pass that you can purchase.
United Club — A2 Satellite, Airside, Gates A20 – A28
Terminal A is the base terminal at EWR for United Airlines, and this lounge is reflective of that. You’ll find a full-service bar in addition to a full buffet that is available from 5:30 a.m. when it opens to closing at 10:30 p.m. A menu is also offered during breakfast, lunch, and dinner times. Private showers with dressing areas are available. This is a 30,000-square-foot space designed to ensure that all guests have quiet and private space, but there are communal areas available for those who prefer to mingle. It can accommodate 500 guests at a time and access is available to United Club members and via day passes.
